Ash-Shu'ara (26)

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ 160❚
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ 161❚
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ 162❚
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 163❚
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ 164❚
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ 165❚
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ 166❚
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ 167❚
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ 168❚
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ 169❚
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ 170❚
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ 171❚
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ 172❚
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ 173❚
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 174❚
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ 175❚
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ 176❚
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ 177❚
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ 178❚
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 179❚
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ 180❚
۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ 181❚
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ 182❚
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ 183❚
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
The people of Lot, too, called the messengers liars.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Their brother Lot said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God?

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
I am a faithful messenger to you:

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
be mindful of God and obey me.

Hizb 8/1
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
I ask no reward from you, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Worlds.

- Verse 164

أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
Must you, unlike [other] people, lust after males
Ash-Shu'ara
- Verse 165

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
and abandon the wives that God has created for you? You are exceeding all bounds,’
Ash-Shu'ara
- Verse 166

Hizb 8/1
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
but they replied, ‘Lot! If you do not stop this, you will be driven away.’

قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
So he said, ‘I loathe what you do:

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
Lord, save me and my family from what they are doing.’
Ash-Shu'ara
- Verse 169

فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
We saved him and all his family,
Ash-Shu'ara
- Verse 170

Hizb 8/1
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
except for an old woman who stayed behind,
Ash-Shu'ara
- Verse 171

Hizb 8/1
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
then We destroyed the others,
Ash-Shu'ara
- Verse 172

Hizb 8/1
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
and poured a rain of destruction down upon them. How dreadful that rain was for those who had been forewarned!

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
There truly is a sign in this, though most of them will not believe:

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
your Lord alone is the Almighty, the Merciful.

كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
The forest-dwellers, too, called the messengers liars.

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Shuayb said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God?

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
be mindful of God and obey me.

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
Give full measure: do not sell others short.

وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
Weigh with correct scales:

وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
do not deprive people of what is theirs. Do not spread corruption on earth.
