Adh-Dhariyat (51)

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ 7❚
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ 8❚
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ 9❚
قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ 10❚
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ 11❚
يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ 12❚
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ 13❚
ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ 14❚
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ 15❚
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ 16❚
كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ 17❚
وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ 18❚
وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ 19❚
وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ 20❚
وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ 21❚
وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ 22❚
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ 23❚
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ 24❚
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ 25❚
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ 26❚
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ 27❚
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ 28❚
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ 29❚
قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ 30❚
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ
by the sky with its pathways,

Hizb 8/1
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ
you differ in what you say––

Hizb 8/1
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
those who turn away from it are [truly] deceived.

Hizb 8/1
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ
those steeped in error and unaware!

يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
They ask, ‘When is this Judgement Day coming?’

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ
On a Day when they will be punished by the Fire,

ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
‘Taste the punishment! This is what you wished to hasten.’

Hizb 8/1
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
The righteous will be in Gardens with [flowing] springs.

ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
They will receive their Lord’s gifts because of the good they did before:

كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
sleeping only little at night,

- Verse 17

وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
praying at dawn for God’s forgiveness,

- Verse 18

وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ
giving a rightful share of their wealth to the beggar and the deprived.

وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ
On earth there are signs for those with sure faith––

وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
and in yourselves too, do you not see?––

وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
in the sky is your sustenance and all that you are promised.

- Verse 22

Hizb 8/1
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ
By the Lord of the heavens and earth! All this is as real as your speaking.

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ
[Muhammad], have you heard the story of the honoured guests of Abraham?

إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
They went in to see him and said, ‘Peace.’ ‘Peace,’ he said, [adding to himself] ‘These people are strangers.’

فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ
He turned quickly to his household, brought out a fat calf,

فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
and placed it before them. ‘Will you not eat?’ he said,

- Verse 27

فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
beginning to be afraid of them, but they said, ‘Do not be afraid.’ They gave him good news of a son who would be gifted with knowledge.

Hizb 8/1
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ
His wife then entered with a loud cry, struck her face, and said, ‘A barren old woman?’

- Verse 29

Hizb 8/1
قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
but they said, ‘It will be so. This is what your Lord said, and He is the Wise, the All Knowing.’
