Al-Muddaththir (74)

فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ 48❚
فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ 49❚
كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ 50❚
فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍۭ 51❚
بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً 52❚
كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ 53❚
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌ 54❚
فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ 55❚
وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ 56❚
فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِينَ
No intercessor’s plea will benefit them now.
Al-Muddaththir
- Verse 48

فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ
What is the matter with them? Why do they turn away from the warning,

كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ
like frightened asses
Al-Muddaththir
- Verse 50

بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًا مُّنَشَّرَةً
Each one of them demands that a scripture be sent down to him and unrolled before his very eyes-
Al-Muddaththir
- Verse 52

كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
No! Truly they have no fear of the life to come-
Al-Muddaththir
- Verse 53

Hizb 8/1
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌ
but truly this is a reminder.
Al-Muddaththir
- Verse 54

Hizb 8/1
فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ
Let whoever wishes to take heed do so:

وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ
they will only take heed if God so wishes. He is the Lord who should be heeded, the Lord of forgiveness.
