وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ 1❚ مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ 2❚ وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ 3❚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌ يُوحَىٰ 4❚ عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰ 5❚ ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَٱسْتَوَىٰ 6❚ وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ 7❚ ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ 8❚ فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ 9❚ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰ 10❚ مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ 11❚ أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ 12❚ وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ 13❚ عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ 14❚ عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ 15❚ إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ 16❚ مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ 17❚ لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ 18❚ أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰ 19❚ وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ 20❚ أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ 21❚ تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزَىٰٓ 22❚ إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَـٰنٍ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ 23❚ أَمْ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ 24❚ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ 25❚ ۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَـٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ 26❚
وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ
By the star when it sets!
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 1 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ
Your companion has not strayed; he is not deluded;
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 2 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ
he does not speak from his own desire.
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 3 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌ يُوحَىٰ
The Quran is nothing less than a revelation that is sent to him.

An-Najm - Verse 4 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰ
It was taught to him by [an angel] with mighty powers
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 5 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَٱسْتَوَىٰ
and great strength, who stood
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 6 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
on the highest horizon

An-Najm - Verse 7 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ
and then approached––coming down
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 8 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ
until he was two bow-lengths away or even closer––
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 9 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰ
and revealed to God’s servant what He revealed.

An-Najm - Verse 10 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ
[The Prophet’s] own heart did not distort what he saw.
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 11 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ
Are you going to dispute with him what he saw with his own eyes?
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 12 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ
A second time he saw him:

An-Najm - Verse 13 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ
by the lote tree beyond which none may pass
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 14 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ
near the Garden of Restfulness,

An-Najm - Verse 15 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ
when the tree was covered in nameless [splendour].

An-Najm - Verse 16 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ
His sight never wavered, nor was it too bold,
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 17 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ
and he saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord.

An-Najm - Verse 18 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰ
[Disbelievers], consider al-Lat and al-Uzza,

An-Najm - Verse 19 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ
and the third one, Manat––
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 20 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ
are you to have the male and He the female?
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 21 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
تِلْكَ إِذًا قِسْمَةٌ ضِيزَىٰٓ
That would be a most unjust distribution!––
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 22 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَـٰنٍ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
these are nothing but names you have invented yourselves, you and your forefathers. God has sent no authority for them. These people merely follow guesswork and the whims of their souls, even though guidance has come to them from their Lord.

Details
أَمْ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ
Is man to have everything he wishes for,
Alafasy
An-Najm - Verse 24 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
when the present life and the life to come belong only to God?

An-Najm - Verse 25 Juz 28 Hizb 8/1
Details
۞ وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَـٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ
There are many angels in heaven whose intercession will be of no use until God gives permission to those He will, whose words He will accept.
