Al-Ghashiyah (88)

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَـٰشِيَةِ 1❚
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَـٰشِعَةٌ 2❚
عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ 3❚
تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً 4❚
تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ 5❚
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ 6❚
لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ 7❚
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ 8❚
لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ 9❚
فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ 10❚
لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَـٰغِيَةً 11❚
فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ 12❚
فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ 13❚
وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ 14❚
وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ 15❚
وَزَرَابِىُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ 16❚
أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ 17❚
وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ 18❚
وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ 19❚
وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ 20❚
فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ 21❚
لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ 22❚
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ 23❚
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ 24❚
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ 25❚
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم 26❚
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْغَـٰشِيَةِ
Have you heard tell [Prophet] about the Overwhelming Event?
Al-Ghashiyah
- Verse 1

Hizb 8/1
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَـٰشِعَةٌ
On that Day, there will be downcast faces,

- Verse 2

تَصْلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةً
as they enter the blazing Fire
Al-Ghashiyah
- Verse 4

Hizb 8/1
تُسْقَىٰ مِنْ عَيْنٍ ءَانِيَةٍ
and are forced to drink from a boiling spring,

- Verse 5

Hizb 8/1
لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ
with no food for them except bitter dry thorns

- Verse 6

لَّا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِن جُوعٍ
that neither nourish nor satisfy hunger.

وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ
On that Day there will also be faces radiant with bliss,

لِّسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ
well pleased with their labour,

- Verse 9

لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَـٰغِيَةً
where they will hear no idle talk,

وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ
goblets placed before them,

- Verse 14

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ
Do the disbelievers not see how rain clouds are formed <sup foot_note=77646>1</sup>

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ
how the heavens are lifted,

- Verse 18

وَإِلَى ٱلْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ
how the mountains are raised high,

- Verse 19

وَإِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ
how the earth is spread out?
Al-Ghashiyah
- Verse 20

فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ
So [Prophet] warn them: your only task is to give warning,

- Verse 21

لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ
you are not there to control them.

- Verse 22

Hizb 8/1
إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
As for those who turn away and disbelieve,
Al-Ghashiyah
- Verse 23

Hizb 8/1
فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَكْبَرَ
God will inflict the greatest torment upon them.

- Verse 24

Hizb 8/1
إِنَّ إِلَيْنَآ إِيَابَهُمْ
It is to Us they will return,

- Verse 25
Juz 30
Hizb 8/1
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُم
and then it is for Us to call them to account.
